On 16 February, EuroCham’s Green Business Committee hosted its first meeting of the year to explore various topics related to sustainable business practices and environmental initiatives.

𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬: Mr. Massimiliano Tropeano, EuroCham’s Sustainability and Garment Expert, provided an update on the Electricity Authority of Cambodia’s response to the chamber’s position paper regarding rooftop solar regulations. The chamber is currently working on a second position paper to be released later this year.
𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: Committee Chairman Dr. Sajith Edirisuriya outlined a strategic plan for the year, highlighting key objectives and initiatives to promote sustainability in the business sector. These plans include fostering strategic cooperation with relevant stakeholders, continuing advocacy for solar issues and other renewable energy topics, collaborating closely with non-garment industries, promoting waste management and green products, and improving access to green financing.
𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐁𝐢𝐳 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: The committee deliberated on the potential schedule for the upcoming Green Business Forum 2024, slated to occur in the last quarter of the year. Subsequent meetings will be convened to further discuss the scope of the topics to be covered during the forum.
