On Friday 15th March, the EuroCham Agribusiness Committee, led by Chairman Mr. Eugene Kraamwinkel, held its first meeting for the year to discuss plans and priorities for 2024.
✅𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: The committee maintained its steadfast commitment to sustainable agriculture in Cambodia. Notable achievements included engaging with government officials, hosting insightful agri-business events, and successfully organising the half-day forum on “Rooting for Change: Smart Financing for Sustainable Agriculture.”
✅𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: The committee will host a Breakfast Talk focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues, exploring their significance and potential in Cambodia. Additionally, discussions will delve into the EU’s Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and its implications for the country. Another session will centre on Cambodia’s agricultural sector, addressing topics such as GDP growth, export challenges, and prospects.
✅During the meeting, the committee addressed key challenges in the agriculture sector, particularly the need for standardised certifications to boost export capacity and build customer trust.
