Duration: 1 hour
On Tuesday 28th May, the EuroCham’s Green Business Committee, led by Chairman Dr. Sajith Edirisuriya, held its second meeting to prepare for the upcoming Green Business Forum and discuss various topics related to green business activities. Below are the outcomes from the meeting.
The committee will hold a Green Business Forum on October 25th, focusing on sustainable production and consumption, green financing, and the circular economy.
The committee members also discussed the outcomes of their courtesy meeting with the Ministry of Environment on April 3rd. During this meeting, EuroCham Cambodia had the opportunity to meet with His Excellency Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment. His Excellency expressed his commitment to various initiatives, including launching a campaign to stop single-use plastics, streamlining internal procedures within the Ministry, the National Tree Planting Program, and establishing standardized pricing for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
Another topic covered during the meeting was electric vehicles. As suggested by committee member Yann Vaudin, CEO of Voltra, electric vehicles are becoming increasingly important in Cambodia. However, due to a lack of laws regulating these products, the committee agreed that standards must be established to better promote electric vehicles in the Kingdom.
