On Friday, 12 July, EuroCham’s Real Estate & Construction Committee hosted a meeting at Topaz restaurant to discuss the outcomes of the Tall Building Forum held in May, as well as updates in the industry and the upcoming committee elections.
During the forum, EuroCham met with H.E Say Samal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, with both sides exploring the possibility to collaborate on issues in the sector. The Minister requested the committee to submit a list of priority issues to tackle, and the committee has chosen the following:
- Consult with the private sector to ensure a practical set of building standards
- Prescribe a set of universal standards of measurement for the real estate industry
- Alignment between urban building regulations and the Fire Safety Systems – Building Design Code
The current committee leadership’s term is coming to an end and elections to choose the new leadership will be held on 16 September.
