EuroCham’s Breakfast Talk on Cambodia Agri-Food Processing

On Friday 24th February 2025, EuroCham Cambodia hosed an insightful Breakfast Talk on Strengthening Competitiveness and Market Access in Cambodia’s Agri-Food Processing Sector at the BRD Auditorium, BRED Bank Building, Phnom Penh.

The session began with opening remarks delivered by Mrs. Ingrid van Ginkel, Vice-Chairperson of the Agribusiness Committee and COO of HUSK. This was followed by a presentation on Government Policy Support for the agri-food processing sector, presented by Dr. Chim Chay, Director of the Department of Agro-Industry at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Mr. chhorm sothun, Sales & Service Engineer at Rieckermann, highlighted opportunities and challenges in adopting advanced equipment technology for agri-food processing.

Mr. Lucas Zahl, Head of Component at CAPSAFE, provided an overview of the EU-German Project: Cambodia Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems (CAPSAFE), outlining its key objectives and expected outputs.

A thought-provoking panel discussion was moderated by Mr. Paul Keogh, Facility Director of the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED). The panel featured distinguished experts, including Mr. Dina SANG, Head of Sales at Bühler Cambodi, Mr. Ponleu Pol, Chairman of Unique Noble Trading Co., Ltd and Head of the IDI Manufacturing Sub-Committee, and Mr. Youngchul Choi, Director of HESED Agriculture Trading.

The event concluded with a presentation by Mr. Paul Keogh on Cambodia’s First Agri-Food Industrial Park (AIP) Project.
