On the 31st of July, at Raintree Cambodia, EuroCham’s Digital and Technology Committee hosted a breakfast talk on AI and Machine Learning (ML), which brought together tech enthusiasts and digital innovators to explore the true potential of these technologies beyond buzzwords, focusing on how they can be harnessed for practical applications and business success.

Mr. Fee Vu, Chief Strategy Officer at IITC.ai, navigated the complexities of defining and measuring success in today’s digital age. From exploring the fundamental question of “What is Real?” in our increasingly virtual world to discussing the challenges and opportunities within the care services sector. Mr. Vu also showcased the promise of AI-powered SmartChat technology, its impact on business outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs), and practical strategies for successful implementation.

Following the presentation, Mr. Kenneth Tang moderated a panel featuring: Mr. Fee Vu, Dr. Rottana, Dr. Kimang Khun, and Mrs.Adrienne Ravez-Men. Together they delved deeper into the topics, offering diverse perspectives on integrating AI and ML into various industries.

💡 On the agenda were discussing how to bring the benefits of AI to the countryside, where 70% of Cambodians reside; debating the morals of AI; the importance of having access to vetted and consolidated data; and bridging the skills gap.

Dr. Ly said his goal at CADT is to increase human resources capacity in the digital sector by 20% in 10 years. One thing is clear, Cambodia is primed to benefit from advances being made in AI and ML just as much as any other country, if not more, with its tech-savvy population and unique set of issues where this tech could make a huge difference (agriculture, for example).
