On Friday, 7th February, EuroCham Cambodia had the honour of meeting His Excellency ๐๐ฎ๐จ๐ญ ๐๐๐ค, the newly appointed Minister of Tourism. The meeting highlighted Cambodiaโs rich history and remarkable resilience following the war, as well as the ongoing recovery of the tourism sector after the impact of Covid-19.
EuroChamโs Chairman Tassilo Brinzer introduced the organisation and its commitment to supporting the formal sector and building a strong data platform for investors. Committee Chairwoman Catherine Germier-Hamel emphasised the role of the Tourism & Hospitality Committee in promoting sustainable travel, sharing insights on Cambodia’s global appeal and drawing lessons from South Korea’s successful tourism strategies.
Executive Director Martin Brisson also presented findings from the recent ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฏ๐๐ฒ, offering valuable insights into the tourism and hospitality industry’s current outlook in Cambodia.
Looking ahead, the Minister shared his plans to attend ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง and expressed interest in collaborating with EuroCham and the German Business Chamber to strengthen connections with the German business community. He also invited EuroCham to engage with the Ministry’s technical team to further enhance the development of Cambodiaโs tourism sector.
