On Monday, December 16th, EuroCham’s leadership delivered a presentation at the 7th National Logistics Council meeting, led by H.E. Sun Chanthol.
At the gathering, EuroCham Chairman Mr. Tassilo Brinzer emphasized the importance of improving Cambodia’s logistics infrastructure and streamlining processes to attract more business to the country. These proposed changes align with the Prime Minister’s goal of making Cambodia a key logistics hub in the sub-Mekong region.
Mr. Bunthan Suy, Chairman of the EuroCham Transport & Logistics Committee, discussed challenges such as complicated paperwork, lack of integration between customs online systems, and customs clearance processes not meeting business needs.
Mr. Chanbormey Sror from Maersk highlighted challenges in maritime transportation, noting that simplifying container discharge processes is key for Cambodia to become a preferred sourcing destination for European investors.
The National Logistics Council acknowledged the points raised by EuroCham and committed to collaborating with relevant industries to address these issues and enhance the logistics environment in Cambodia.
