Real Estate Committee announces vote results at Raintree
The Real Estate & Construction Committee has decided to implement an entrance fee for membership, following a vote by its members. During a gathering held at Raintree on December 12th, the results of the vote were announced over drinks and hors d’oeuvres. The quorum for the decision required 50%+1 of the committee’s members, which, given the committee has 42 members, meant that at least 22 members needed to participate. With 24 votes cast, the quorum was successfully met.
The breakdown of the vote is as follows:
- 13 votes in favor (“YES, I APPROVE”)
- 10 votes against (“NO, I REJECT”)
- 1 abstention
The committee will now discuss the details of the entrance fee, including the amount and how the funds will be used to enhance committee activities and benefits for members. This new phase for the committee will also involve a recruitment drive to welcome new members
