Duration: 1 day

On Thursday, 30 May, EuroCham Cambodia hosted its Tall Building Forum 2024, diving deep into the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as Phnom Penh continues to grow its skyline. It’s clear that although the real estate and construction sector has faced difficulties since COVID, the sector works in cycles and there’s plenty of innovation in the industry to ensure future tall buildings complement the environment and bring benefits to the people as well.

We were honoured to have His Excellency Say Samal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction address the crowd of 140+, as he looked towards the future, emphasizing that now was the time to plan to ensure Phnom Penh remains a livable, convenient, and beautiful city for all its inhabitants.

This year’s edition was special for several reasons: for the first time, we teamed up with EuroCham Vietnam’s Real Estate and Construction Committee, who hosted their version of the forum in Ho Chi Minh City on 28 May. Additionally, in partnership with Archetype Cambodia and @Future thought, the Tall Building Design Competition was launched, where teams of students competed by designing future-proof buildings for Phnom Penh.
