The Transport & Logistics Committee held its ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐ซ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ, looking back on the committeeโs successful initiatives throughout the year. Notably, in late September, the committee ๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ค๐๐ฒ ๐ ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ง๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ข๐๐ฌ advocating for increased government intervention in Cambodia’s transport and logistics sector.
Following this, committee leaders met with ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐ง ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฅ during the 7th Session of the National Logistics Council, where EuroCham was invited to present on “Cambodia’s Cross-Border Procedures and Logistics Infrastructure.”
Before the year’s final committee meeting, EuroCham also held a productive session with the ๐๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ (๐๐๐๐) on the 19th of November. During this session, the committee shared its report of the Deputy PM meeting, which notably resulted in the removal of the โLetter to the Director of Customsโ procedural requirement.
In addition, the EuroCham team presented preliminary results from the ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฏ๐๐ฒ, revealing concerns within the private sector, such as the lack of transparency in customs systems and the high cost of logistics.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of the upcoming ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ & ๐๐จ๐ ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฆ. The proposed agenda was reviewed.
